PICKING IN AUSTRALIA
Fruit
picking has traditionally been a constant means of income for the noble
backpacker. This type of work can be found in all states (excluding the
A.C.T.), depending on the time of year. Some travelers have been known to
travel around from place to place following the various harvest seasons.
However, most see it as a temporary means for fast cash. HOT
TIP: Be warned that harvesting can be backbreaking work where the effort
does not always equal the income. Nonetheless, this type of work
has been known to get Johny Backpack out of a tight spot.
